Obvoiusly, Obama has been talking of healthcare reform since he was campaigning for presidency. As of recent, the House of Representatives and the Senate are suppose to vote on the healthcare bill.
But the main problem with this whole thing is that Obama is bribing the Representatives and Senators by saying, "If you vote for this bill, I'll give you this, this, and this, and these and those benefits for your state. It's that simple."
Personally, I think that Obama is nervous about this bill. He canceled his trips to certain countries, who have probably been waiting FOREVER for him to come, so that the bill can be voted on sooner. He's afraid of the Representatives/Senators reconsidering their decision.
So what do you think? Should the House and Senate just start over with this healthcare thing? After all, this bill is how many thousands of pages long? That means at least much of it, if not all of it, is bogus.

If it doesn't end up passing, then yeah, they should start over. The health care industry does need some sort of reform, but not complete government takeover or a bill being voted on that the voters don't know what is even in it.

I agree with what Josh said. Also, With the way the bill is currently set up there will be more people kicked out of their homes and living on the streets because they couldn't pay for something that was forced on them. This will be bad for the economy and for the people of the United States. I really hope that this bill does not get passed, and in the future if it's reworked then I hope that it isn't forced on the citizens of the United States so we don't have to pay for things that we can't pay for.

Agree with both of you. Our healthcare needs reform, of course, but there are too many issues with this bill. Some people say, "We need reform. Pass it now, and we'll fix the problems later." Fat chance. Once a bill is passed, there's very little posibility of it being "fixed", or overturned, as our history reminds us daily.
Another issue is the economy. We're trying to create jobs to get ourselves out of this mess. If this bill passes, 46% of doctors say that they want out. I don't blame them. And condidering that the Senate bill does not state that abortion will not be funded, that would probably shut down most pro-life hospitals, since everything is to be goverment funded.
I think another important factor is that our leaders should be focusing on the economical crisis and the war in Iraq instead of worrying about healthcare right now. That can wait. But then again, we can see how much Obama cares about our troops. He won't go visit those who are keeping us safe, except on a few rare occasions when he had a camera behind him to show how wonderful he is.

There will always be controversies in whatever bill will be passed. Luckily the Democrats didn't let all the hype about this bill prevent them from passing it. It was much needed reform and will save lives. I don't get why so many people are against saving lives... especially so-called christians.

There will always be controversies in whatever bill will be passed. Luckily the Democrats didn't let all the hype about this bill prevent them from passing it. It was much needed reform and will save lives. I don't get why so many people are against saving lives... especially so-called christians. There are more people than just Christians that hate this bill. I could probably name a few Christians that do like this bill, in fact. My main point is that you can't generalize about people's opinions just because of their faith. There are some fundamental rules that Christians should live by which may be one thing that you can generalize Christians on, but as far as our personal opinions you shouldn't generalize because all Christians think differently because no human being is alike. A lot of people are against this because there are so many hidden fees and laws hidden in this 1,000 page bill. If you were to read every word of this bill surly you would find something that you wouldn't agree with, such as on Page 50 Section 152 in HC bill: Health Care will be provided to ALL non-US citizens, illegal or otherwise. That means you're paying for them too. Along with the extremely obese and people who use excessive amount of drugs. Their health is now a concern for your checkbook. And along with this, on Page 170 Lines 1-3 HC Bill: Any NONRESIDENT Alien is exempt from individual taxes. (Americans will pay). So we're paying for illegal Aliens to come into our country and they're living the good life by not paying for any health care while we fork our hourly wages to pay for them. Or such as on Page 59 HC Bill lines 21-24: Govt will have direct access to your bank accounts for elective funds transfer. (Time for more cash and carry). My family is broke as it is, I don't need government officials picking out the nitty gritty of what's left in our bank account. Socialism is also a concern. Socialistic views are stated on Page 12 4 lines 24-25 HC: No company can sue GOVT on price fixing. No "judicial review" against Govt monopoly. This is also a threat to doctors. Page 241 Line 6-8 HC Bill: Doctors: It doesn't matter what specialty you have trained yourself in -- you will all be paid the same! (Just TRY to tell me that's not Socialism!) Page 317 L 13-20: PROHIBITION on ownership/investment. (The Govt tells doctors what and how much they can own!) Page 317-318 lines 21-25, 1-3: PROHIBITION on expansion. (The Govt is mandating that hospitals cannot expand.) This also caught my eye. Page 354 Sec 1177: The Govt will RESTRICT enrollment of 'special needs people!' Unbelievable! Wasn't this mostly what the health care bill was supposed to be aimed at? Helping people in need? These are just a few things out of thousands that are unreasonable in this new health care bill. More than just Christians would agree with me too.

This whole thing is twisted. The way Obama pushed for it is so wrong. For a piece of legislation that big, why in the world would you want to rush it through? Wouldn't (and shouldn't) people want the goverment to take their time so it gets done right the first time? You would never rush into buying a house and fix it up later. You would get what you want fixed first and then buy it....
