I have been researching some debate topics that I would like to see people's response on. My first debate is:
Do parents have any right in deciding their child's future?

They have the right to influence their child's future. They can raise them with a certain future in mind. However, it is ultimately up to the child to decide his/her own future. That's kind of the basic on what I think about that...

I agree. Parents have the right to help guide their children. After all, isn't that what parenthood is all about? But they don't have the right to force their children to do this or that. Especially assuming that their children are legal adults. But then again, it also depends on if the parents are paying for their education. If they don't want to pay for their kid's crazy chemistry class that's going to teach them how to create home-made hand grenades, I can't really blame them for trying to sway their child.
