This thread should in no way be used to ridicule or belittle any person or their faith. I don't think it has been, but sometime what people write can be misunderstood. Anytime people discuss these things it opens up a possibility of that happening.
Regarding Mormonism, I appreciate the explanation of the underwear, and I know there is more to it than the brief description that was given. The whole underwear question could have been left out because that is just one of the "rituals" of Mormonism and it doesn't really address the fundamental initial question about their belief in who Jesus Christ is. A faithful Mormon does not believe that Jesus Christ was always God, only that he became God. It is because of this belief on who Jesus Christ is among others that keep them from having valid Christian baptism.
Regarding the continual communication of God with people on earth, Joshua Farrell may possibly be making reference to God giving additional PUBLIC REVELATION. Orthodox Christianity teaches that God continues to communicate through the Holy Spirit via PRIVATE REVELATION, but that PUBLIC REVELATION ended with the death of the last apostle. This means that nothing more can be added to what was needed to be revealed about God for the salvation of mankind. Everything that was needed to be known has been made known, and this is found in the Sacred Scriptures of the Holy Bible and safeguarded through the teachings of the Church. Mormons, on the other hand, believe that God added public revelation with the prophecies of Joseph Smith.
These two things, among others, make up a critical difference between the two belief systems.
